Following is criteria for evaluating nominations for State Employee of the Month:

  • Importance of the employee's specific contribution and the extent to which it served to contribute to the employee's work team, the organization – or the public good.
  • The impact the employee's contribution had on the efficiency, effectiveness or responsiveness of an agency service or product.
  • The originality of the contribution and the inspiration it may serve to other employees toward excellence of performance.

Selection Procedure:

From the nominations submitted, each Selection Committee member will choose three nominations and assign points as follows:

  • 1st choice = 3 points
  • 2nd choice = 2 points
  • 3rd choice = 1 point

Committee members will send their nomination choices to the state program coordinator who will determine (based upon total points received) the State Employee of the Month.  In case of a tie, the Office of Administration Division of Personnel Director will make the final choice.
